Baylor will serve as the No. 1 seed for the third year in a row at the Big 12 Equestrian Championship. Oklahoma State follows BU, slotted in as the two-seed after a tiebreaker, as TCU rounds out the field. The 2017 Championship will take place March 24-25 at Willis Family Equestrian Center on the campus of Baylor.
Top-seeded Baylor will face off against TCU to start off day one, while Oklahoma State tussles with TCU in the second round later that day. OSU and TCU will complete the first two events of the matchup on day one and finish the round Saturday morning followed by BU taking on the Cowgirls. The squad with the best record after all action plays out will take the title.
The Bears earned the top spot in the championship finishing the 2017 slate with a 10-4 record and 3-1 mark in conference competition. Oklahoma State followed closely behind checking in at 8-2 on the season and 3-1 in Big 12 meets. The Horned Frogs concluded the season with a 4-8 overall record and 0-4 clip in conference competition.
Every conference squad enters the Championship ranked in the top 10 by the NCEA. OSU and BU sit in second and third, while TCU checks in at ninth.
Last season, Oklahoma State took the crown for the fifth time in school history with a 13-6 victory over Baylor.
