Texas Tech’s Austin Green (player and co-newcomer), Baylor’s Will Rigney (pitcher) and Oklahoma’s Dakota Harris (co-newcomer) were selected for Big 12 Baseball Weekly Awards for games ending March 19.
 
Green hit .526 with three home runs, 10 RBIs and six runs scored, helping the Red Raiders to a 4-1 week and a series victory over No. 12 Oklahoma State. The junior second baseman had four multi-hit games, and scored a run in all five games. He hit a grand slam in Sunday’s series-clincher against the Cowboys, and added a fifth RBI in the same inning with a single. The Diana, Texas native had a 1.693 OPS on the week to earn his first Big 12 weekly awards.
 
Rigney retired all 15 batters he faced, and only allowed four of those 15 to put a ball in play, as he earned two wins for the Bears. Against Rice, the righty from Woodway, Texas struck out five of the six batters he faced, picking up the first win from a Baylor starting pitcher this season as the Bears would go on to finish a two-hit shutout. In Sunday’s rubber game against Kansas State, Rigney retired nine batters, striking out six, keeping Baylor in the game to rally to an 8-4 come-from-behind victory. For the week, Rigney struck out 11 batters and accumulated a 2-0 record for the first weekly honor of his career.
 
Harris hit .385 for the week, and stepped up his average to .500 (5-for-10) in Oklahoma’s series win over then-No. 11 TCU. The Polk State College transfer hit a three-run home run, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs on Friday, then singled and doubled in Saturday’s victory. The Land O’Lakes, Florida native singled and drove in his fifth run of the week in OU's 7-5 series-clinching comeback win on Sunday. It is the first Big 12 weekly honor for the junior shortstop.
