Kansas State’s Hadley Splechter and West Virginia’s Ceili McCabe were awarded the Big 12 Cross Country Runners of the Week for the fifth week of the season.

Splechter finished 17^th out of 183 competitors running a 24:28.9 in the 8K at the Gans Creek Classic. The junior finished a full second faster than his time at the Cowboy Jamboree on September 18^th. The Wildcat men finished eighth at the event ahead of Big 12 opponents Baylor and Kansas. This is the Kansas native’s first Big 12 weekly award.

McCabe placed first at the Louisville Classic with a personal best and school record time of 16:27.8 in the 5k. The junior helped the Mountaineers finish in third place out of 44 schools racing. McCabe is a First Team 2020 Academic All-Big 12 member and the 2019 Big 12 Women’s Newcomer of the year. This is her first Big 12 cross country weekly award.
